‘To Dorm or Not to Dorm’

I haven’t been able to write since I moved to my dorm which is quite far from my family house. I live in a dorm  house(kind of a dorm, student’s house) which is full with 8 girls, with me included. Since we are crowded and it’s been the first week of school I was quite busy with my lectures and house works to do, so I tried to finish my work before coming and writing here. I even had my first presentation last week at the second day of school!
I belive living in a dorm is an advantage. So I wanted to give some reasons for those who are not yet convinced why they should live away from their parents.
First of all, if you are a single child just like me, you’d be able to have company and have hardly any chances of being lonely again. College is an environment of making friendships that will help you along the way.
Secondly, dorm gives you the chance to act, move freely. Your parents dont really have much to say about your life when you are away from them which would give you the chance to set your own way and follow it.
You also have to overcome any anti-social skills to deal with your roommate or other college students which I believe eventually give you the confident and social skills you need.
Finally the dorms help you to have “the full college experience”.  You have the chance to see the world better and see the struggles life brings, experience them to learn when you live away from your parents.

Eids In Turkey

Yesterday was the first day of the eid so Eid mubarak everyone!

I wanted to tell you about the typical eid routine in Turkey for those who have no idea about it.
Well on the first day, people woke up around 7:00 am right before the eid pray which is called salat al eid is prayed and wear the clean and new clothes they buy for eid. They then go to the oldest person’s house, which is generally the grandparent’s, and wait my grandpha and other men to come from the mosque then have a family breakfast with all the family members, aunts and cousins included. During the whole eid day the children not the home owner if she/he is old, serve some food to guests who come to visit the house owners for eid. Normally the food includes baklava, sarma(stuffed grape leaves), börek(Pastry filled with spinach) , ayran and black tea
What we served out guests yesderday is below with pictures;
Baklava, which is the symbol of Eid in Turkey.

Then this stuffed grape leaves which
we call as ‘sarma’

Pastry filled with spinach, we also call
it bosnian pita since my grandma is bosnian.

And also soup for those who want

And as for the beverage;
Black tea/ Turkish tea as some call

And ayran

If you ever consider coming to Turkey, make sure you come during the Eid! 🙂

She Was Pretty (Kdrama) Review

I have to admit: I love romantic comedy dramas!
I have been checking every kdrama site to see if there’s any romantic comedy drama to watch for the whole year, but as far as I observed this year koreans mostly made action dramas except the comedy ones. So I got to say that when I realised ‘She Was Pretty’ on the blogs below, I got so happy and watched it at once.

(Huge thanks to The Drama Corner, picadrama, AmaDramaAddict for letting me know about this amazing drama)

All in all, from the first two episodes, ‘She was pretty’ was so nice and I really enjoyed the show especially introduction of the characters.
I recommend this drama for the comedy-lovers just like me. The plot I shared below is not really exciting but the show is really really entertaining.

For the plot;
When Ji Sung-Joon was young, he was ugly. As he grew up, he began to have an attractive appearance. When Kim Hye-Jin was young, she was pretty. As she grew up, she became ugly. Ji Sung-Joon tries to find his first love.

For the Cast:
Well, I have to admit the fact that all the actors are so atractive. Their acting skills are also so good.

The ‘Hello’ Post

I will just skip the traditional ‘hello’ part, because I had a few blogs only with the hello posts on them. I kinda belive they bring bad luck since I didn’t continue to write on any of my previous blogs.

First of all, popular ‘how to write blog’ sites says that I’ll not succeed as a blogger here since I have no interest in fashion and makeup. So I don’t have big dreams like being a very popular blogger. I am just here to write, share my thoughts, daily life experiences with whoever is there reading.

I don’t really know when I’ll start posting regularly like every day or week but I just wanted to make a beginning today.

So, you’ll probably see my experiences which will probably be about; turkey, school, dramas, tv show, books, exercise, food, cooking(wrong! Just eating), and so on…

Bye now, till the next time 🙂
